Adaptive Reuse & Renovation

Old buildings often outlive their original purpose. Adaptive reuse adapts buildings for new uses while retaining their historic features. Our firm begins this transformative process by understanding the character-defining features of a structure and then creatively discerning how those "bones" might accommodate new features. We are adept at making alterations and additions that are considerate to the building’s original character and we are committed to providing design solutions that are cost effective and environmentally sound.

Our successes in adaptive reuse speak for themselves: conversions of bus depots, tennis courts, and industrial buildings into community centres have left these buildings virtually unrecognizable. Where they once stood in a state of disrepair or neglect, these buildings now serve as the focal point of the communities in which they are located.
